Les Etats Généraux Culturels Méditerranéens, qui auront lieu à Marseille les 4 et 5 Novembre 2008, viennent exprimer l’accent que la Présidence française de l'Union européenne veut donner à la dimension méditerranéenne de la politique de l’Union européenne, au lendemain du sommet de Paris qui a lancé l’Union pour la Méditerranée à partir du processus de Barcelone.
L’objectif des Etats Généraux est de nourrir efficacement les réflexions, propositions et projets des acteurs non-gouvernementaux sur l’ensemble des sujets culturels intéressant la zone méditerranéenne, et de les porter auprès des décideurs et des institutions publiques et privées, dans un contexte de réaffirmation et de renforcement des relations euro-méditerranéennes.
Ce forum a été mis en place pour permettre l'élaboration d'une réflexion commune, avant et après les Etats généraux. La réussite de ce forum repose donc sur la participation de tous les acteurs de la coopération culturelle en Méditerranée. Chacun est appelé à exposer ses réflexions, propositions et projets sur ce forum, qui se veut l'outil participatif des Ateliers Culturels Méditerranéens.

The Mediterranean Cultural Forum, which will take place in Marseille the 4th and 5th of November 2008, intends to emphasize the Mediterranean dimension of the French European Presidency, in the continuity of the Summit of Paris which launched the Mediterranean Union on the basis of the Barcelona process.
The goal of the « Mediterranean Cultural Forum » is the nourrish reflections, proposals and projects of non-governmental actors on a variety of cultural subjects in the Mediterranean region, and to present the conclusions of the workshops to stakeholders of private and public institutions.
This website was set up to allow the elaboration of a think tank, before and after the Cultural Mediterranean Forum. The success of this forum rests therefore on the participation of all actors of cultural collaboration in the Mediterranean. Each is called to submit its thoughts, proposals and plans on this forum, which is a participative tool for the Mediterranean Cultural Workshops.

يعبر المنتدى الثقافي المتوسطي عن التركيز الذي تريد الرئاسة الفرنسية للاتحاد الأوروبي أن تعطيه للبعد المتوسطي لسياسة الاتحاد الأوروبي،وذلك بعد قمة باريس التي أطلقت إلى النور الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط استناداً إلى عملية برشلونة.
يهدف المنتدى الثقافي المتوسطي إلى تغذية الأفكار والمقترحات والمشروعات المقدمة من الجهات الفاعلة غير الحكومية بشأن كافة الموضوعات الثقافية المهمة بالنسبة لمنطقة المتوسط، ورفعها إلى أصحاب القرار والمؤسسات العامة والخاصة.
